WHY a Republican Primary?

Local candidates will not be listed here as a Republican until after petitions are turned in and accepted.  Some candidates have indicated that they are waiting until the last minute to decide  to run as Republican or Independent.  Vote for conservative, Republicans who are willing to take a stand!

To be a candidate in the upcoming May Republican Primary, you do not HAVE to be "bonifide".  Beginning Dec. 22nd, candidates can pick up a Republican petition from the Election office. You must also register  and submit appropriate fee at https://www.tngop.org/2026-candidate-registration

A candidate may be challenged by five (5) "bonifide" republicans from the district (if challenging a district office) or county (if challenging a county office)  The challenge is then handled by the State GOP.
